Dr. Nicole Defraeye
Dr. Nicole DeFraeye has been a resident of Chatham-Kent her entire life. Growing up on the family farm fostered her love and desire to care for animals at a very early age. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph, Dr. DeFraeye pursued her veterinary degree in the Caribbean and is a graduate of Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to practicing companion animal medicine, Dr. DeFraeye was also an Associate Professor teaching Veterinary Technology students, worked as an Emergency and Critical Care veterinarian, and lead a team of veterinarians for a pharmaceutical company that manufactures vaccines and medicines for animals. She is currently on the Advisory Board Committee of the Veterinary Technology Program at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus and is on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association.
In her spare time you can find Dr. DeFraeye outside with her husband on their farm, working in the vegetable garden, collecting eggs from the hens in the coop, or walking with the dogs.
Dr. DeFraeye is passionate about Wellness & Preventative Medicine to maintain pets' health and well-being, and enjoys working in partnership with pet owners to ensure that these very important family members live long, healthy and happy lives.
